Hybrid Solar system:

Has all the advantages that grid tie solar systems have with sell back capabilities , but also has distinct advantage of backup power in case of power outages. In other words, Hybrid solar systems combines the best from grid-tied and off-grid solar systems. These systems can be described as a grid-tied solar system with extra battery storage.  Hybrid systems use batteries to store energy for later use during a power blackout, similar to a UPS system. Also Generators and wind turbines can be added, monitored and controlled. Traditionally the term hybrid referred to two generation sources such as wind and solar. More recently the term ” hybrid solar” refers to a combination of solar and battery storage. Which unlike off grid systems is connected to the grid.

Choosing between hybrid and grid tie systems is a matter of personal choice, depending on how important emergency power is to you. Hybrid does have a higher cost than grid tie system, mainly due to cost of specialized equipment, power inverter, charge controllers and batteries. It is a more complex installation requiring engineering and permitting, and a qualified  electrician.
